Radon is a natural gas that comes from the soil and it can cause lung cancer.
A safe level of radon according to the EPA is below 4, but our goal is to bring the radon levels low as possible.
Any radon level above 4 is required that you install the radon mitigation system. The higher the level of radon the faster the chances of getting lung cancer.
Radon is a carcinogen and radon is known to cause lung cancer.
Radon typically enters in through the lower half of your home. The lower part of your home is under pressure, so it's constantly trying to suck air from underneath the slab. As a result, radon can come in through cracks or the sump pump.
The only way to know if the radon system is working is to do a post mitigation test. We are not allowed to do the test because it's a conflict of interest. However, we provide you with a test kit so that you or the home owners can do the test. You can also hire a professional to do it for you.
*We also install a pressure gauge on the pipe that lets you know if the fan is working or not.
